The University of Twente invites you for its Entrepreneurial Day on Tuesday 13 June. The theme of this day is ‘Digitize: Disrupt or Be Disrupted’. You are all invited to attend this exciting afternoon.
The University of Twente is known for its entrepreneurial spirit. We are Europe’s proud frontrunner in knowledge transfer with over 900 spin-off and start-up companies. Together with students, entrepreneurs, regional and national governments, our scientists seek technological solutions for today’s and tomorrow’s global challenges.
Entrepreneurial Day will, amongst others, feature the finals of the 2017 UT Entrepreneurial Challenge. In these finals, students compete for the most innovative idea, proto-type or business plan. Partners in this challenge are leading companies in and outside the Twente region, such as ASML, Demcon, Nuon, Thales, and Ernst & Young.
SPEAKER: JOSE VAN DIJK
Jose van Dijk, Vice President of Cisco Systems, will be flying in from Silicon Valley to deliver a stirring keynote lecture titled Digitize: Disrupt or Be Disrupted.
Jose joined Cisco in 1997 with over 18 years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, and customer service management for global high-tech companies. Prior to working with Cisco, she held operations management positions at Apple Computer and Texas Instruments.
After months of preparation, the UT Challenge has given its contestants tools to become well acquainted with the university’s network and the opportunity to meet the perfect partner organizations based on technological clusters. With help from our business partners’ special coaches, the students have developed and improved their unique innovations. Chat sessions, training courses and workshops have offered students the preparation and tools they need to give the pitch of a lifetime on 13 June during the event’s Grand Finale on campus: Entrepreneurial Day.
